Why PBMS?

In addition to all our other services listed on our Services Pages, there are other "non-billing" functions that our system can provide to the clients.

-Internet Based Operating Systems - The system allows you to have office real-time access to the billing system, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. With instant access to your information, you will see evidence that we are following through with our promise to track all billings and collections.

-Appointment Scheduler - Utilizing the appointment scheduler allows both the provider and PBMS to identify appointments that do not have charges associated. This tool ensures that all services rendered are accounted for and billed out.

-EHR - The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) includes over $60B, designed to stimulate health care IT (HIT) adoption by the medical community over the next few years. On July 13, 2010, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid services (CMS) issued its final rule on the Electronic Health Record Incentive Programs under Medicare and Medicaid. According to the Act, Physicians are eligible to receive up to $44,000 in total incentives per physician from Medicare for "meaningful use" of a certified EHR starting in 2011. Eligible professionals reimbursed by Medicaid (MediCal in California) can receive up to $63,750 starting in 2011 based on state-defined guidelines. Our web-based electronic health record software is fully integraged with the practice management (billing) portion of the program. It provides paperless charting, enabling remote and mobile access to patient records. Physicians have access to electronic prescription tools and online charge slips. Clinical staff has access to historical patient care information, allowing you to deliver the highest level of care possible.

-Document Storage and Imaging - If you choose to not utilize the EHR, all charges would be scanned directly from your office/facility into our web-based document storage package called eBridge. If utilizing the EHR option, charges for hospital services and any additional items, such as EOB's would be scanned into eBridge. Payment EOB's would be sent directly to PBMS from the payors and copies of all EOB's would be scanned to eBridge from PBMS as well. We believe in full transparency in all we do.

-Electronic Claims - PBMS curently uses Relay Health, which is one of the largest clearinghouses out there today. Any payor who is allowed to bill electronically will be done so through our system. The benefit to this is much faster turnaround and accuracy of the claims.

-Electronic Billing For Worker's Compensation Claims - Depending on the provider, this will be a great benefit. Instead of waiting for status checks for claims at 60-90 days, we will be allowed to check at day 1. Any "clean" claims will be paid before they are out of the "current" bucket - typically around day 14. If you have a high volume of workers compensation, you will understand this benefit. No more "lost claims". The front-end scrubber checks for claims numbers date of births, and all the pertinent information to be sure the claim will go through clean the first time.
